We’re Daisy and Lana - two mums from East-Sussex who share a deep love of reading!

We started Storybook Studios because we felt something was missing. We believe books can be magical, powerful and deeply comforting, but we noticed fewer children were truly connecting with reading. And there’s nothing quite like that feeling when a child clicks with a book – it can be one of the best feelings in the world.

With reading in decline, we wanted to explore new ways to inspire children and help them fall in love with stories. We believe there’s no single “right” way to connect with books. For some children it might be through singing, for others through cooking, movement, yoga, play or rhyme. Sometimes, all it takes is one magical moment for something to spark a lifelong love of reading.

That’s why Storybook Studios offers lots of different ways to engage with stories – creative, playful, immersive experiences where children can explore books in a way that feels joyful and natural.

We’re also passionate about accessibility and community. Through The Story Foundation, we’re committed to offering free and subsidised spaces in all of our classes, helping ensure every child has the opportunity to experience the joy of stories.

Alongside this, we care deeply about supporting what we see as an underutilised workforce – stay-at-home parents, carers and creatives who have incredible skills but can’t commit to long or inflexible hours. As mums ourselves, we understand how challenging returning to work can be. If you have a skill that could sit alongside reading and storytelling – whether it’s creative, practical or playful – we’d love to hear from you.

Together, The Story Foundation and Storybook Studios offer a magical and immersive experience for children in Crowborough, Rotherfield, Mayfield, Frant, Wadhurst and beyond to play, learn and grow.
